Hello everyone! I′ve got a major issue now due to the fact that I accidentally deleted a form which was being employed on every portfolio page/post I have on my website. So I need now to create a new form but with the same Shortcode ID otherwise I′ll have to change it manually on every single portfolio page individually. The thing is when I ask to create a new form (AVADA theme) the Shortcode ID comes a random number (such as [contact-form-7 id=”131″ title=”Contato”]) which cannot be edit (at least I′m yet to find a way to do it!) Can someone help me? Thanks! Breno

Try a shortcode without the id attribute, such as [contact-form-7 title="Contato"]. Contact Form 7 will attempt to search by title when id is not provided.

    Hi @takayukister,
this worked up to version 5.7.4 (inclusive). Currently not working, shortcode requires id ??.

Yes, it requires ID and sadly it seems you cannot change it (at least I haven′t managed to do it so far). Any ideas as for how to pull this off? Thx in advance all of you!

What do you mean by “it requires ID and sadly it seems you cannot change it”? A shortcode is only a text. Do you mean you can’t edit text?

Hello @takayukister ! Thx for your help for starters!

I can′t find a way to edit the number 2369 on:
    [contact-form-7 id=”2369″ title=”Fale Conosco_copy”]

The pathway that led me to this page was the usual one I think, which is:

CONTACT > CONTACT FORMS > EDIT (FORM) > Edit Contact Form > “Copy this shortcode and paste it into your post, page, or text widget content” (This ID Shortcode is the one I cannot edit!!)

I am using AVADA theme. Looking forward to hearing from you! Thanks again!

Simply copy that shortcode, edit it to remove the id="2369" part, and past it to a shortcode block or anywhere you want to place it. It is just a general plain text so you can edit it.

I don′t think I have made myself clear, sorry… The question is> Can I create or edit a NEW FORM WITH A SPECIFIC NUMBER PRE-DEFINED BY MYSELF (my own birthday for example) INSTEAD OF GETTING THAT RANDOM NUMBER?

Since I have all an accidentally deleted ID form embedded on all my Portfolio pages, I need to recreate it with the EXACT SAME ID NUMBER, otherwise I′ll have to paste the new ID shortcode on every single page/post.

That would save me a lot of time. Thx!

    No, you can’t.

Thank you Takayuki! So, just to confirm pls: Inserting the new Contact Form Shortcode ID and editing page by page and post by post is the only way I can deal with the issue, right?
