• Hi,
I started a new installation and it opened with 2017 as default. At the beginning when I went to customize I saw a really cool front page with parrallax affect, featuring images of coffee and food on the entire width of the screen.
But after strangely it all disappeared. Not only it disappeared, I couldn’t find how to enable the all width parallax view to content I added.
    Any suggestions?

  • well, I experienced this same exact issue. The parallax effect mysteriously disappeared and there is no apparent way to get it back…
I assume there will be a fix in the next months for all the minor issues that afflict this beautiful theme, but until then I suppose we have to wait…

This is a feature of the Customiser and it uses the featured image of pages for the image and the content of the page appears under the image. See https://karavadra.net/display-full-width-images-separate-twenty-seventeen-home-page-content/

    Thanks!

@bharatk yup, I know that ?? what I meant is that the parallax animation is no more present. During the first hours, after selecting some featured images, it was indeed there… after a while it disappeared without any apparent reason.
The site is still beautiful, but the animation was a valuable “plus”…

The original images and parallax effect disappear, but you can create parallax effect yourself. Create a page and add a featured image. Then go to the customizer and select static page, then select the page you created. You can then create a second page, and add it by going to theme options in the customizer and add that second page to come next.

@bencm that was the first thing I did ?? unfortunately the effect animation disappeared.

    Hello @cresta,

When you scroll down the following 2 pages you will see the panel images appear and disappear. Is this the effect you are looking for?

hi @bharatk, yes, I am looking exactly for that effect ??
it was there when I first installed the theme, but after adding my own featured images and doing all the tweaks required to run my site, it went *poof* ??

    Hello,

I did not have the look on the links I sent you above as I was worrking with a development version of the twenty seventeen theme.

So, whether you have deleted them or lost them somehow, you can re-create them by using the link I sent above which I will repeat again below. On that page go to the section called ‘Where and how to add the images.’

I have that exact problem – as in missing images on home page – did what you said exactly – the featured images show on the individual pages – but not on the home page with the parallax effect – like @bencm that started this thread – I was all set and good to go and images did show and then suddently do not – and now I just get a grey banner – no picture.

    any thoughts welcome

    fractals,

Can you send me your WP login details from https://karavadra.net/help so that I can look into it?

    Thank you,

    Bharat

thankyou Bharat – I just looked at the site – and it is now fixed – so problem solved …. but HOW you ask – how did it magically just fix itself. Here is the answer. (I think)

In parallel I was having another images problem where images were uploading to the server. In media library, you could see them but on the site they rendered with the ‘image unavailable’ icon. So I escalated that issue to my ISP.

On my site I have user name / password set up to even view the site – while I build out the core of the look and content. In addition, I also have Jetpack installed.

My ISP reduced my view image problem to a conflict between Jetpack and that password protection. In short, I had to remove one of the other. For now, I have disabled Jetpack – and my images just show. In addition, I note that my parallax images on the home page are also rendering as I would expect – so all good.

When I go live – I will switch off password protection and switch on Jetpack – and I am expecting all will be ok … if not – I will be back – but for now – it looks like that was what was causing the problem.

Thank you for getting back to me.
