How can I exclude sticky posts from my posts page?

  • On this page: https://www.kriscalvin.com/news-events-2/
    I am trying to make it so that my Sticky posts do not show up. There is only one sticky post (the one titled “One Murder More”).

    Also, I only want my one sticky post to show up on the home page (https://www.kriscalvin.com/). I can’t get rid of that second post on the home page, even though I changed the settings at Theme Options > Advanced > Home page show posts at most > 1

    I’ve tried inserting a handful of jQuery and PHP codes on the blog page template (template-blog.php) page, but nothing has worked.

    Any ideas?
