I’m building a page of Portfolio (Parent albums) as per your instructions, by putting each shortcode into my Pix page. But I’d like each one to open on it’s own page because after I have half a dozen Portfolio albums and the last one is at the bottom if someone opens it and it loads on the same page they won’t see it – it’s at the bottom of the page. I tried setting Link to: to a different WP page but that opens a blank page.

    Thanks

Create a Grandparent album, set the parents of the parents to the grandparent, and display the CONTENT of the grandparent, i.e. using only ONE shortcode, like [wppa type="album" album="xx"][/wppa] wher xx is the grandparents id.

Thanks, that works starting with one grandparent album, but I want to start with a page of grandparent choices, so you start with a something like Seminars, Excursions, AGM Photos as Grandparents – and then inside of each of those are the parent albums showing various dates. They work individually but I’m trying to figure out how to start with a page of choices as well.

Same trick, put the grandparents in a grand-grand-parent album.
As long as you have ONE shortcode on the page, the wppa+ display will always completely be replaced by the display you clicked to.

I figure that out, but it still means you have to start with ONE album at the top level. I was trying to figure out a work around so I could show more than one album at the top level. Maybe I can figure out a way to use more than one WP page and do them in iframes or something.

Just display the CONTENT of the top level album – being a list of sub-albums – like e.g.
    [wppa type="album" album="{top-level-album-id}"][/wppa]
Make sure the top-level album containins no more photos than set in Table I-A4

Fantastic! Thanks. You really have the best Photo Album system for WordPress.
