How can I get rid of comments, permanently?

  • i would prefer for people to not be able to leave comments. can they be gotten rid of to where nothing about leaving a comment shows? and that will also get rid of several comments i have previously approved?

  • Edit your theme’s index.php file and remove all references to <?php comments_popup_link();?>. You may have to repeat the process with category.php, archive.php and tag.php.

    In single.php and page.php, remove the reference to <?php comments_template();?>. Repeat for any custom page templates.
