I’d like to use something like WP-Mobile Detector to redirect to a theme such as Responsive. However, I have no customization capability of the theme when I do this. The only way I can customize the theme is by making it the main theme but then when I switch back so it is just the secondary mobile theme all the settings go back to default. Is there a way to edit a mobile theme (to the same or similar extent as the main theme) independently of the main theme? Suggestions would be appreciated,

    Thanks

  • Why not use a theme that is coded to work on mobile devices automatically? That’s by far the easiest way to go.

I am but I guess I made too many changes to the css and php to customize the site to my liking and thus it doesn’t really appear as it should on mobile devices…

I think that’s still going to be your best option – and it’s certainly possible to make changes that don’t wreck the theme’s responsiveness :). Also, hopefully you’ve used a child theme so that your changes won’t be lost when the theme is updated? That also makes it easier to check on your changes vs. the theme as to how it’s working on a smaller device.
