• When ever I switch language while viewing a post – it jumps back to the first post listed in the category when the new language loads. I want it to load on the same post page that I was on when I switched languages.

Is there a way to fix this?

I am using Genesis with Modern Studio Pro

PRETTY PLEASE? lol. I have searched the web over but can’t seem to find a fix for this. I know that there is a way to stop the front page loading by unchecking the button on the language widget but I can’t seem to find anything about post pages jumping to the first post in the category.

The reason this is an issue is because my friend wants to have each post as a page and when you are on page 12 and switch languages to see what it looks like in french you have to go through all the pages again to get back to where you were.

Thank you in advance – any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Tanya,

Have you associated the posts in the different languages to one another? I’m asking because my site actually stays on the post in the translated language when I click so if yours doesn’t it might be something as simple as that?

    Hello Jacynthed,

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me. I really appreciate this. ??

I believe I have them linked – for each post that I have created in English I have clicked on the + sign next to the french flag in the language box and then created the same post in french. When I open one post it shows the translated post with a pencil beside it in the language box (screen shot below) Is that linking them?

    language link

p.s. – this only affects posts – on the pages it works as it should and stays on that page.

    Hmmm that is strange.

Yes you have them linked, so they technically should redirect directly to the post when you switch language. I just tested again from one of my posts and it went straight there.

What is the permalink option you have in your settings? If it’s different from mine maybe that could be it? Grasping at straws here because I just started using the plugin 2 days ago. LOL

My permalinks setting is set to post name.
