    Hi there

We tried your plugin to no success. We now what it removed so I have deleted the plugin and it started creating an sql dump in /wp-content/Dropbox_Backup

Every time I deleted the directory it reapppeared.
We’ve stopped that but now it is dumping the error in error_log and it is increasing the file every minute (currently > 3GB).

Is there any way I can kill the cron task and stop this from CPanel?

  • I have the exact same problem. error_log file is increasing size in a crazy way, and I need to keep deleting it in order not to exceed the size limit on my server.

Any way to prevent this uninstalled plugin from attempting to make a backup copy?

I have “fixed” the problem just by reinstalling and activating the plugin. Now error_log isnt getting 1 GB big in minutes.

But I guess the whole problem isn′t fixed yet. On CPanel I see the I/O usage is at its limit. The error_log was growing with warnings saying a file wasnt found on the server. Now Dropbox Backup & Restore is making an unwanted local backup of the site.
I will wait until it finishes making this backup copy, as stopping it now would probably cause the same problem again. I will report back then, to see if it gets fixed that way.

Nothing got fixed. The backup goes on and on. I deleted the backup file after it was twice the size of the whole site.
And now it is taking most of the memory.
I really need a way to stop this ghost backing up process.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

    Many thanks Tania and Odelweb.

To solve this problem I need to know answers for some questions:
    1. Is it possible, that you send the plugin logs to our technical support?
    2. Is it possible, that you send your request to support out of plugin, using the “Help” button? It can help us to find part of your logs at our system.
    3. Are you using the latest plugin version?
    4. How you’ve created your backup? Using standalone plugin or through our service?

Much better, if you send this information and all of your questions to support(@]wpadm.com
    Thank you!

This plugin was an absolute nightmare for us. Being on shared hosting as most WordPress installations are, this plugin caused the entire server to shut down.

We finally managed to delete the plugin and all problems. I will not got anywhere near this plugin ever again.

I installed the plugin and had the same issue and immediately deleted.
I’m curious if there are any further steps needed to kill cron tasks or anything else it may still be doing in the background. Please share the steps you took to resolve in addition to deleting the plugin.
    Thank you!
