• I’ll admit, I’m terrible with web design, HTML, and things. The fact I made my website at all, by myself, is a great accomplishment. I’m not sure what to do to my homepage or entirely how to do it
So, I have my site which I use to just write down my thoughts. Its mostly used to post my thoughts for my friends to read and laugh. I can’t think of what to add on the homepage to make it cooler. Its so blank.

    Any suggestions?

  • Watching other friends and you will discovery more.

    Content:
Lead with your best foot forward – or rather, your best posts. Try a specialized loop that contains only posts from your “best of” category.

    Design:
Look at 90% of the blogs on the Internet (their design) and then do the exact opposite.

Figure out what looks good, manages space well, and keeps your elements in places easy to find.

Mesh your elements together (theme it!) and keep your colors copacetic.

Google “web design showcase” (or something similar) to get a feel for what the “best of the best” are doing. Imitate, expand, and incorporate ideas into something that is “you” – don’t just outright copy.

    Coding:
Wordpress documents and Google are your friend. Use them.

LOL maybe you should use your own advice @boyevul, your site looks a bit dull.

@cremacious, i think your site looks good…maybe if you put a wacky/funny picture of yourself (or with your friends) in your homepage will be a good idea…also, use wp-minify, 1 blog cacher, wp smush.it to make your site load faster..
