• Hi,
I deleted the default ‘Post’ page when i install the OceanWP theme, and created a completely new page which i named it as ‘NEWS’ and set it into the main menu.

I was prepared to publish posts in this ‘NEWS’ page, however when adding new post, there’s no ‘Parent page’ in Post Attributes (But there’s Parent page option in Page Attributes when i create a new page), i was intended to set the Post Attributes into ‘NEWS’ page at the beginning.

So i tried with another way which finally didn’t work perfectly:
    1) Dashboard > Pages > Delete the ‘NEWS’ page.
    2) Dashboard > Post > Categories > Add new category (And named the slug as ‘News’).
    3) Dashboard > Appearance > Menus > Remove the invalid ‘NEWS’ page from the Main Menu > Add menu items > Categories > News.
    4) Try to add new post named it ‘Hello OceanWP’, set the categories as ‘news’ which just created a few seconds earlier > Pulish it.

When i go back to my site and check on the ‘NEWS’ page, it truely have the posts in that page. And three problems came along with it:
    1) The URL of this page is xxxx.com/category/news/, not like the other parent pages which display like xxxx.com/about, xxxx.com/products, xxxx.com/about… I do NOT want ‘category’ in the URL.
    2) The title of this page is not ‘NEWS-XXXX company’, it displays as ‘News Archives-XXXX company
    3) When i click the post, its URL is xxxx.com/hello-oceanwp, it’s not xxxx.com/news/hello-oceanwp.

How to fix that URL problem without creating child pages in the NEWS page? Since i will publish articles in NEWS page very often, it will be a huge work to do so.

Thank you Amit, i go with you guide and problem 1) and 2) solved.
Problem 3) When i click the post, its URL is xxxx.com/hello-oceanwp, it’s not xxxx.com/news/hello-oceanwp. How can i fix that in dashboard or customizer?

Are you using any SEO plugin? Go to the plugin settings and enable the option to display the category base in the URL. Also, go to Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks and customize the URL as per your need if you are not using any SEO plugin.
