How can I prevent an accidental upgrade to WordPress 3.0

    Hello,
    I just painfully reinstalled WordPress 2.9.2 and rebuilt my client’s site after it was accidentally upgraded to WordPress 3.0. and crashed. We are using several plugins including Event Calendar which don’t appear to work with 3.0. How can I prevent an accidental upgrade? There are so many places with the “please upgrade today” button.
