How can I shorten the length of the H1 Header in the Theme – Pujugama?
-
Hello I am fairly new to Word Press. This is also my first post to the forums. I have installed the Pujugama theme on my Word Press 3.3.2 site. I have now started to build out the site and do not overly wish to change the theme template to something else.
I am running into a couple issues with the Pujugama theme that I would like to change. The main problem is with the header on the Homepage. I would like to shorten the length of the information contained with in H1 Header it order to make it more SEO friendly.
I am using a site waudit.com to analyze the pages in order to try to better the SEO of the template and my home page specifically. My Waudit page score is listed at: 90%
At this 90% score I have both my Site Title and Tagline filled in with what I need them to be. (Both of these data points were tested for length on another theme and scored 100%, so I do not think that my titles are too long.)
The reason waudit.com is giving for this lowered score is: “H1 is presented. Optimal length 10 and 40 charactes. Found 24 charactes.” This test was with the Site Title and Tagline filled in with my info.
On the settings > general in my admin area/dashboard I remove my info out of fields “Site Title” and “Tagline” and leave them blank. I then reanalyze the home page with waudit.com I get the score 100%. “H1 is presented. Optimal length 10 and 40 charactes. Found 24 charactes.”
Does any one know what is adding these extra 24 additional characters and can they be removed?
Here is the entire header.php for the template:

Any help would be appreciated. I have a small theory on what it “could” be, but do not want to throw too much in a single topic.
Thank you in advance.
