How can I speed up the web site loading?

  • Hello,
    Please bear with me. I’m new to wordpress.
    I’m a web master of a church web site (Bury St Edmunds Presbyterian Church) at:
    https://www.bse-pc.org/latest

    My testing wordpress site can be found at:
    https://www.bse-pc.org/latest
    This wordpress site takes ages to load. I’m using WP Super Cache and have removed a couple of plugins but didn’t get much improvement in terms of the loading speed.
    Any suggestions would be very appreciated!

    The web hosting company (ixwebhosting) couldn’t help with the problem as it believed it has something to do with wordpress.
