    I have a couple instances of a customers cancelling prior to paying

    First one:

    Name Event Booking Date Spaces Status Total
    dgunderson Mandarin One 06/10/2015 10:54 am 1 Cancelled $175.00
    dgunderson Mandarin One 06/10/2015 10:55 am 1 Approved $175.00

    Second one:

    Name Event Booking Date Spaces Status Total
    Damilola Apatira Mandarin Two 06/03/2015 9:34 am 1 Cancelled $110.00
    Damilola Apatira Mandarin Two 06/10/2015 3:19 pm 1 Cancelled $125.00
    Damilola Apatira Mandarin Two 06/17/2015 1:29 pm 1 Approved $125.00

    How can this be? Can anyone shed some light on this?

    user can cancel events or bookings using my-bookings page under Events > Settings > Pages > Other Pages > my-bookings page and then you can modify this template file under events-manager/templates/templates/my-bookings.php

    I am well aware that users can cancel bookings.

    How is it possible that they can cancel a booking before it is made?

    As far as I can tell, there is no cancellation option before the booking is made. So this must be some strange glitch in Events Manager.

    It really is annoying to see random bogus cancellations.
    Please help.

    Okay I just figured out one possible explanation.
    When a user cancels a booking, does that remove the booking transaction?
    If that is true, then every time I see and “approved” booking I can assume the person is actually register.

    Please let me know.

    An approved booking means “approved and paid”. The cancellations you’re seeing are likely due to a timeout between the user selecting to pay for the event and actually processing the payment on PayPal.
