How can we block spam comments?

  • Is there anyway we can block specific spam commenters?
    Spam seems to be all that I get!
    Or, really, I’m ready to turn off ANYBODY’s ability to comment. . .
    I tried to look for how to do that too, and couldn’t find it.

    I did find the new free wp-spamfree.zip, downloaded it (I think)
    then never have been able to find it – and have no idea how to install it.

    (yep, tech-challenged I am. It’s a wonder I can find a beer in the
    fridge!)
