• Please provide instructions on how to delete this plugin (V6+) including any data embedded in WordPress database tables.

We deactivated and deleted the plugin, but data remains “hidden” in our database tables.

    Please help.

    Thank you!

  • Yep, how do we do that? With no warning, the entire plugin changed and now it wants access to everything in my Google account. No thanks.

    @jetxpert @procharter :

Personally I use WP-Optimize, to remove all transient and orphan options. It also can delete leftover database tables associated with removed plugins. (using the ‘Tables’ tab).

Also, once removed, do not forget to remove permission to your google account :
    – log in your google account
    – go to https://myaccount.google.com/permissions
    – seek exactmetrics
    – revoke access

If you don’t do that last bit ExactMetrics STILL has permission to access your account using the token stored on THEIR server. So it’s rather important not to forget ??

Assuming you can get access to your database with eg phpmyadmin, go to wp_options and search ‘Option name’ with a ‘LIKE %…%’ search for ExactMetrics. Should get about 6 results. Delete them. Then do a similar search for GADWP. May get about 4 results. Delete them.

Hi @boldairdeveloppement thanks a lot, I did remove permissions granted for Google Analytics from my Google Account as suggested but I was wondering what about permissions granted to access to my Search Console and Google Adsense?

@aberizzi those are normally linked. Once you remove permissions to Exact Metrics, you remove them for Adsense and Search console too. If that wasn’t the case, ExacMetrics would still appear after removal into those permissions categories.

    Thanks, y’all!

    Useful Tip:

If you have V5.3.10 of this plugin installed (or plan to install it), do not delete GADWP from you OPTIONS database table.

    Cheers!

Thanks to Digbymaass for the great information!
Just out of interest, I’ve checked one domain where I’ve removed ExactMetrics 6.0 and replaced it with GADWP 5.3.10. When I check the wp-options for ‘Exactmetrics’, I get 8 entries. When I check for ‘GADWP’, I get 24 items!
A few more than the 4 suggested.
