    Hi.

How can we make the space/background between the widgets that are fixed, solid on scroll? This would prevent content from showing through between the widgets that are fixed.

    See https://www.screencast.com/t/BYP1uiHpclg

    Thanks so much.

    Greg

P.S. I am using the “Improved” version tick box FYI too.

    Hey Greg,

    thanks for reaching out.

Do I understand correctly that you want the background of fixed elements not to be transparent?
A CSS rule like background: #fff; on the widgets normally helps. The exact selector depends on the theme. I might be able to take a look, but the website you linked does not work. I also believe a bit.ly link is not allowed by the forum guidelines. Links are not visible for not-logged-in users anyway, so please provide a valid one to your site if you’d like me to take a look.

    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Thanks for the link.

Unfortunately, the transparent space is a margin, which cannot be set to have another background color without rewriting more code.

Can you group the fixed blocks into a new “Group” block? If so, it should be possible for me to set a background color for that group.

    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Thanks Thomas,

I have made the widgets go into a Group with the new widget blocks per https://docs.generatepress.com/article/grouping-widgets/

But, they are now not Fixed. I can not find where to make the Group a Fixed block or set of widgets now. Where is that?

Once that is done, I think you will have what you need for the background right?

    Hey Greg,

you should find the Fixed Widget options in the block settings on the right. See our manual for screenshots.

Please make sure you select the Group. That can be the tricky part in the Block UI.

Once that is done, I should be able to help with the background.

    Thanks,
    Thomas

I am getting a message that your site is in maintenance mode. I will check back next week after a local holiday if that changes.

    Hi @truebird,

I am still getting a warning on your site:

“Wingdom.store is currently in maintenance mode to address several appearance and functionality issues based on customer feedback.”

Are you aware of it? If so, I won’t be able to help.

    Thanks,
    Thomas
