• Hello,

I am completely amazed there is no color coding page editor plug in. All the plugs that I found might work but require you to add language info in pre tags, which is retarded. How smart do you need to be to realize the HTML TAB OF THE PAGE EDITOR IS HTML. How come there are no page editor html color coding plug ins?

It is also ridiculous there is so many color coding plug ins for editing non database files because THESE FILES ARE EXACTLY THE FILES YOU WOULDN’T MODIFY IN WORD PRESS BUT THE PAGES YOU HAVE TO MODIFY IN WORD PRESS HAVE NO COLOR CODING OPTIONS (PAGE EDITOR).

Someone please redirect me where I should go, how could a plug in not exist like this? YOU HAVE TO USE THE WORDPRESS PAGE EDITOR FOR PAGES, where is the color coding plug in?

  • Actually, you don’t have to use the WordPress editor. I prefer Vim on Linux and Notepad++ on Win. Both are great editors with excellent syntax coloring. Editing inside of a text area is really pretty Stone Age and I would only do it as a last resort. That said, I do agree that syntax coloring should be built in to the editor.

@jhansensd: Please stop shouting. This is your second warning.

agreed. there should be a plugin for this.
