    Hi sergenial,

    Thank you for using ‘Credit Tracker’!

    There are two ways to use ‘Credit Tracker’:
    create dedicated page for all the images used on the website which need to be credited and place ‘credit_tracker_table’ shortcode there; see also https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/credit-tracker/faq/ (How do I include a Credit Tracker on my page?)
    or
    activate ‘Override shortcodes’ to override WordPress [caption] shortcode; see also https://s.w.org/plugins/credit-tracker/screenshot-5.png?r=1018500

    Hi labs64,

    thanks for your quick reply. What shortcode do I need to paste under my images in the WP editor when I need individual credit information for every image? I activated “override shortcodes” but still there is no credit information below my images.

    Thanks!

    Hi sergenial,

    Please refer to the caption shortcode description: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Caption_Shortcode

    By activating ‘Override shortcodes’ the standard shortcode will be overridden with the defined one at ‘Copyright format’ pattern.

    Hi,

    I’d like to second this question please: “What shortcode do I need to paste under my images in the WP editor when I need individual credit information for every image? I activated “override shortcodes” but still there is no credit information below my images.”

    I have also activated “override short codes”. Can you please explain to me, what is the next step to get the credit info to show below my images? I didn’t understand the reply above about Copyright format.

    Thanks!

    Hello Jen,

    Thank you for this hint. We’ve created issue on the same on our issues tracker: https://github.com/Labs64/credit-tracker/issues/10

    Could you please provide bit more information:
    – which WordPress version are you use?
    – is the any other plugin or theme which can override existing WP shortcode ‘caption’?

    Best Regards,
    Labs64

    Hello,

    Minimal set of attributes which are mandatory for ‘caption’ shortcode is defined as:
    – id (attachment identifier; format “attachment_ID”)
    – width (caption area width; please note: this is not image width)

    Below you’ll find working example for the wordpress caption shortcode:

    [caption id="attachment_5" width="500"]<img src="/LogoLabs64_2D_M.png" alt="Labs64 Logo" width="263" height="94" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5" />[/caption]

    We’ll update plugin documentation accordingly.

    Hi!

    ANSWERS BELOW

    Could you please provide bit more information:
    – which WordPress version are you use?
    I’M USING WP VERSION 4.1.4
    I JUST UPGRADED TO THE LATEST VERSION OF CREDIT TRACKER

    – is the any other plugin or theme which can override existing WP shortcode ‘caption’?
    I HAVE THE BELOW IN MY CUSTOM CSS BOX:

    .frontTitle {
    display: none;
    }

    .widget_categories h3 {
    display: none;
    }

    .a2a_button_facebook_like iframe { width: 48px !important; }

    .secondary-navigation { display: none;}

    .theauthor { display: none;}

    THANKS! I look forward to your reply.

    Hi Jen,

    Thank you for this info. We’ll analyze this carefully and update you on our findings.

    Meanwhile could you please test this shortcode where you are also providing "id" and "width" mandatory attributes?

    Example

    [caption id="attachment_5" width="500"]<img src="/LogoLabs64_2D_M.png" alt="Labs64 Logo" width="263" height="94" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5" />[/caption]

    Hi again,

    Thanks, I’ll test the suggested short code. I’m not very technical – where in WP should I add the short code please?

    Best,

    Hi Jen,

    We’ve added Step-by-Step instruction :: How to add custom image caption which should help you to proper configure Credit Tracker caption shortcode.

    Best Regards,
    Labs64

    Hi again,

    I have now started the process of following the step-by-step instruction. In step 7, could you please clarify the instruction for me?

    1. In ‘Edit Post’ view change to ‘Text’ editor
    2. Click on ‘Add Media’ button and select image
    3. In the ‘caption’ shortcode make sure ‘id’-attribute is set properly to media id

    I get as far as 2 above. An then I wonder, am I to add the caption short code in the edit post text editor view myself? Or should I add the short code in the add media/image view? If so, where? I have tried both already and then applied step 3 but neither is working for me.

    Thanks,

    Jennie

    Hi Jennie,

    As soon as as you have selected image via media view the caption shortcode will be available at post edit view, also please continue with this dialog.
    The content in your’s post edit view should look similar to the content in step7.

    Hi,

    1. Not following now.. How did you mean selected the image via media view? I have added it to the media library. Then I followed the guide which says to access edit post and add the image there, in the section “text”. Have I done that step correctly?

    In step 6, after I have added the image, the code that appears in the section “text” does not look anything like the example code shown in step 6, but rather as the below:

    [ Moderator note: code fixed. Please wrap code in the backtick character or use the code button. ]

    <a href="https://www.densaboterandeekorren.se/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Screen-Shot-2015-04-21-at-8.43.53-AM.png"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-709" src="https://www.densaboterandeekorren.se/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Screen-Shot-2015-04-21-at-8.43.53-AM-300x256.png" alt="Screen Shot 2015-04-21 at 8.43.53 AM" width="300" height="256" /></a>

    2. Should I do anything to change the above code?

    3. Where do I add the short code you mentioned earlier in this conversation?
    [caption id="attachment_5" width="500"]<img src=”/LogoLabs64_2D_M.png” alt=”Labs64 Logo” width=”263″ height=”94″ class=”aligncenter size-full wp-image-5″ />[/caption]

    Hi Jen,

    Yes, you did it right. It seems that WordPress not always adds caption shortcode.

    You can try to add it manually; simply add following around your inserted image link:
    [caption id="attachment_5" width="500"]YOUR INSERTED IMAGE LINK[/caption]

    … make sure ‘id’-attribute is set to real media id.

    Best Regards,
    Labs64

    Hi,

    I have added it as you suggested. Is it correct that it should then look like this?

    [caption id=&quot;attachment_5&quot; width=&quot;500&quot;]<a href="https://www.densaboterandeekorren.se/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Screen-Shot-2015-04-21-at-8.43.53-AM.png"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-709" src="https://www.densaboterandeekorren.se/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Screen-Shot-2015-04-21-at-8.43.53-AM-300x256.png" alt="Screen Shot 2015-04-21 at 8.43.53 AM" width="300" height="256" /></a>[/caption]
