How customize Initial starting value

  • Hello, i like your plugin, but I need to set a initial starting number like 1935712 views.
    This value is derived from the previous counterstat, so my customer would start the new counter from this value.
    Could you help me how I can set your plugin to start from 1935712 views and count from this value?

    Sorry for not answering this before.

    Please check on each post / page you will see the Page View Counter in the right sidebar of the editor. There you can set the Total Count for that post or page.

    Thanks @a3rev first of all congratulations on your plugin, it has a clean and elegant code.
    I have already seen the functionality on the single post but I was wondering how to increase the count of all the posts already published in one go.
    Switching to your plugin I have lost all 18-year visits on MenteDigitale.org and would like to recover them, but I have thousands of posts already online.

    Yes there is no way to bulk update the post counts. This is something we will look at – initially my thinking would be to write a simple Export / Import script for export the Post ID, Post Name and total views in a CSV.

    The totals could be updated on the sheets and then Imported.

    We would need to include option to select type / taxonomies to export /import – eg
    * Posts
    * Post Categories
    * Post Tags
    * Pages
    Plus any Custom post and taxonomies – for example
    WooCommerce Products, Product Categories and Tags

    Steve, your idea to create an Export/Import script to update the post counts is really essential. Hope to see that function soon in an update to your plugin.
