• A friend is trying to convince me to move my Geeklog site over to WordPress. (Funny, he’s the one who convinced me to use Geeklog in the first place…) It would be a lot of work, but I wouldn’t want to change my theme very much.

How hard would it to be to do this? Are WP themes totally different in structure?

For info, the site is here:

If someone would be interested, I’d be happy to toss some of my books their way (I write about Macs…) and give them publicity.

    Thanks,

    Kirk

  • If Geeklog is working for you and you aren’t looking for some specific functionality that WP offers while Geeklog doesn’t, then why bother switching?

A tri-column theme would simulate your current Geeklog theme. Nothing is impossible, but I’m just wondering whether it’s worth it.

    Regards

I’d agree. WordPress is fantastic, but if you aren’t finding anything lacking in Geeklog, then you might just be advised to continue using it and save yourself the trouble

That being said… your theme doesn’t seem like it would be too tough to convert to a WP theme. ??

    I agree with everyone above… ??

Thanks for the comments. It’s true that Geeklog works well. But I’m not convinced that it’s a good long-term solution, and WordPress looks much better from that point of view. Also, if I do change, it’s a lot of work, so I wouldn’t want to wait until I have a few hundred stories…
