I have problems with VPS LAMP OVERLOAD CPU Of web server about once or twice per month,

I suspect may be WordPress installations updates, happen at these times of overwhelming cpu

Question 1:

A WordPress installation, not accessed by a domain, but still on the VPS, may was WP-domain.com/blog official but abandoned by migrated or renamed in another directory, or by copy or move in another directory … can still having functionality to update itself to newest WP versions…? Even inaccessible by the public… well?
