How do I actually login?

  • Ok, I’ve just bought a domain, hosted it, installed WordPress with Fantastico and received my supposed username and password but what do I do now? I have no idea how I log in, or if I even need to log in to WordPress?

    It’s been over a year from the last time I was in wordpress, how do I find admin, my sites have lapsed now and I don’t have a host…can I still find my themes/templates page, I spent so much time putting it together.

    If you no longer have a host, or a domain. Your stuff is gone.

    Ok I am having an issue and I really hope someone can help me!
    I have a blog on wordpress.com and want to upgrade to www.ads-software.com. I have signed up at Bluehost and downloaded www.ads-software.com. I’m trying to log in, but it just bringing me back to wordpress.com login. Its not taking me “admin” login information, because I know its for www.ads-software.com and not wordpress.com. I have exported everything from wordpress.com, and i know i need to “import” it on www.ads-software.com, but can’t figure out how to get logged in. I have tried “happycouponing.com/wp.login.php but its redireting me to wordpress.com again. What do I do?! Thanks so much!

    Clear out your browser history completely I guess

    When I go to happycouponing.com/wp-admin I get a www.ads-software.com login

    Some other people are saying they see that too- but when I log in, I get the wordpress.com login or it will bring up my old page. I have deleted all my browsing history, but still get the wordpress.com login. Any other suggestions? Thanks so much for the reply.

    Yes- I deleted everything. How can you see a www.ads-software.com login, and I still am getting a wordpress.com login? Haha I’m so confused!

    Do i need to do anything extra on my Bluehost control panel?

    I honestly have no idea about that….. I assume you originally had your domain name pointing to your wordpress.com blog? If so, that would need to be updated, which I’d have to assume you did if I can see the proper login page….I’d just double check all the settings I guess

    Yes I had the original name pointing to wordpress.com. I have updated the nameservers to the bluehost ones on godaddy, and it says they are directing there. So……… do I need to “forward” the domain from godaddy to bluehost/www.ads-software.com?

    I don’t think you need to forward anything if you have the nameservers setup to point to your hosting

    Even when I am logged in to my simple scripts account (where i downloaded wordpress from) and try to login there, it bring me to wordpress.com.

    If you only recently pointed to the BlueHost NameServers, then it may just be DNS Propagation. Propagation happens more quickly or slowly for some, depending on several things. It generally takes about 1-48 hours. If you have cleared your cache, cookies, etc., then you may just need to wait a while longer.
