Hi. This is the theme. https://newwpthemes.com/themedemo/?wptheme=WpTech
The header.php is quite different from the twentytelve or other simple themes. As hard as I tried, I couldn’t seem to modify correctly the header.php, and as a result, the banner didn’t even appear. I just saw that this theme hasn’t got a banner on top, like others. When I started, I never really wanted a banner, but now I almost finished my site and from my point of view, a banner on top would suit just right. I don’t want an ad banner, I want a banner that I will create.

I also tried to use some plugins, and also used a script for implementing “Header Widgets” area in Appearance—>Widgets. Nada…

  • You may not be aware of this, but your theme is not released under the GPL licensing requirements of WP – so it’s not supported here at all. I’d also suggest you reconsider using a theme that’s not consistent with WP policy and philosophy. Some additional relevant info here:

I didn’t know that…sorry. I’m new to wordpress. But it doesn’t mean that a header banner can’t be added.

It’s probably possible, but no way to know for sure without seeing how the theme is coded – and we don’t use or help with themes from vendors like that – sorry.

You’ll really be much better off finding a theme that’s of known good quality – there are plenty of them here:

(Those are all supported here as well.)

It’s kinda too late…I can’t start all over, because the banner was the only thing that remained on the to do list. But if I change the theme with one of the “official” themes, the site would mess up like it messes up when you change the theme on an html website?

Sorry, but we do not support non-GPL themes here. You’ll have to ask the people you got the theme from or hire someone to help you.

You would likely need to make some adjustments – but you can certainly start trying some other themes to see how they look/work. There’s not going to be a better solution here.
