How do i add custom field box on my write post/page?

  • I would like to add a value of URL that i can change from time to time as custom field however i don’t see the custom field box on my page template.

    How do i add custom field box on my write post/page? is there i need to do in functions.php in order to add the custom field box? i am using a theme template i’m not sure if there’s something wrong with it.

    can someone give me a sample code on how to go about it?

  • on an “add new” or “edit” post or page screen – look at top right of page to Screen Options
    click that
    one of the boxes revealed is “custom fields”
    check that
    good to go
