At one point I could add and edit templates, but now when I try to expand on the post template editor nothing shows up. I’ve deactivated and reactivated the plugin. It has to be something ridiculously simple that I’m missing. I would be embarrassed to share how long I’ve been trying to figure this out. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. I posted pictures in the link below.

    Hey @cannamomma

That looks like a bug or a conflict, nothing to be embarassed about!

A couple of things to try:

    1. Are you using WPML? We are aware of a bug with WPML and are working on a fix

    2. I guess there is an error somewhere in your browser we need to look at. Can you open the “debug console” and show me any errors? This article explains how to acecss the debug console in Chrome, but all major browsers have this feature:

Now I’m embarrassed I didn’t reach out earlier lol. I’m not using WPML and I tried on both Chrome and Safari. I added a picture of the debug console to the site. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I don’t know what happened but it started working again. I uninstalled a bunch of plugins. One of them must have been affecting the visual editor. Thanks for your time and response!

Oh that’s great! Any ideas which one(s) it might be? (So I can do some testing)

I’m not sure. I’m learning and stumbling along as I go when it comes to web development (lots of stumbling). I think it had something to do with my visual editor in WordPress. I was doing my editing through elementor and didn’t notice that until I started troubleshooting.
I think these were all deactivated today:
    All-in-One WP Migration Pro
    JetStyleManager
    Creative Mail by Constant Contact

I also deactivated and reactivated these:
    CSS Hero
Custom Layouts – Post + Product grids made easy
    Custom Post Type UI

    Thanks again!

Thanks for the reply and info! I will mark this as resolved for now – but good to have the info handy for testing should anyone else encounter this issue.

    All the best!

Hi Ross, I’m having trouble again! Now I can create and edit custom templates, but I can’t do the same with layouts! Any ideas?

    Hey @cannamomma

I’m spending some time on updating Custom Layouts today so will dive right into this.

Can you tell me, is the effect exactly the same as before (with the templates) and nothing showing at all?

Or does it partially load, but is not usable? (could you send a screenshot again if it’s different?)

    Thanks

    Hey @cannamomma

I found a few issues that needed fixing (since the WP 5.8.1 update I believe).

Can you test this and let me know if that gets things working for you?

    Hey @cannamomma

We just released an update with a bunch of bug fixes – I think your issues should be resolved in 1.4.3
