I have repeatedly had this problem where I activate a theme and all of a sudden the block editor stops working completely. This even applies to widgets even though block is one of the widget types you can add. Unfortunately, you also have to know the HTML code to use because there is no wizard to help at that point.

Is it possible to enable the block editor for widgets on themes that don’t support blocks? If not, what HTML code should I paste into the block for it to render a tag-cloud of the top 100 tags?

Also, is it possible to determine the top 100 tags based on post view count instead of post count?

I tried adding the Gutenberg plugin but that didn’t change anything. So far the only way I’ve read to enable Gutenberg Blocks unless its enabled by default is with that plugin. Does this mean the theme is overriding it somehow?
