    Hi,

I want to change the default image that comes up when I link to my blog, primarily on Facebook. My site is https://www.theglobalcouple.com.

The image that comes up is an old header image, and for the life of me I can’t find where to change it! I have looked through all the wordpress settings and can’t see any options for where to change it.

Do I need to ‘tell’ Facebook to update the image somehow? Any assistance is greatly appreciated! (I’m a relative newbie by the way).

    Thanks ??

If you use a commercial theme or plugin and need support, please go to their official support channel. In order to be good stewards of the WordPress community, and encourage innovation and progress, we feel it’s important to direct people to those official locations. Doing this will provide the developer with the income they need to make WordPress awesome.
Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial theme or plugin is not working properly. This is one other reason why volunteers forward you to the commercial product’s vendors. The vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product.

I could not find your themes support site but this is a start.

    Hi kmessinger,

Thanks for your message. I appreciate that I probably need to contact the theme developer, but I have been having this issue with the past three themes that I have had (the two themes before my current one were free WordPress themes). So I’m thinking it’s not a theme-specific issue, but rather a WordPress or Facebook one?

Any advice would be appreciated ??

    Thanks!

It is not a WordPress issue as far as I can tell.

The image, https://fbexternal-a.akamaihd.net/safe_image.php?d=AQBhVIm4OaVqEZo-&w=486&h=254&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.theglobalcouple.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2014%2F10%2Ftheglobalcouple.png&cfs=1&upscale=1 is coming from https://www.theglobalcouple.com/wp-content//uploads/2014/10/theglobalcouple.png

FB took away an option of selecting the image you want to use. I think they are caching the image. If it is an unused graphic try to rename it and rename the image you want to use theglobalcouple.png

Ok, thanks – I have done as you have suggested.

No change as yet on Facebook, but I’m guessing this sort of thing may take a while? I wonder if there is some way to prompt Facebook to find the new image? (I have no idea how this sort of thing works!)

Connect to the server using FTP client like CuteFTP or FileZilla and navigate to the site theme image folder. Sometimes its in wp-themes and some times the files are located in wp-content/uploads or wp-content/media and download the theme logo file you have uploaded. Make a new Logo file of same width and height and name and upload it to the same folder. FTP client will tell you file already exist do you wish to overwrite click yes and you are done. This is the best best hardcore option.
