How do I change sidebar font size and position?

I’ve just installed a wordpress blog and want to reduce the font of all content in the sidebar. I also want to change the colour and remove the bulleted list as at the moment it’s sticking out into my page. Can anyone tell me what I have to edit in the style.css file to do this?
