How do I change the background color of the site header/title section?

You can achieve the same using css.
Simple add the below css code

.header-main{background: #303030;}

Please change the color code accordingly.You can get the color from onlile color picker if needed(https://www.webpagefx.com/web-design/color-picker/)

You need to adds this CSS on the style.css

.header-main {
    background-color: #bfbfbf;
}

Change background color with color code as example on place as #bfbfbf;
