• Hello,

I have been looking all over the wordpress site for hours and can’t seem to find the answer or plugin.

What I want is for the links that show up under “pages” to be different than the actual page title.

For example, the page title is “blue widgets” but I want the link to just say “blue”.

How would I go about doing this? Is there a pluging for this?

    Thanks

  • Hours – cor blimey. Once the page is published – you go back and edit the permalink (which is just underneath the title element in the edit page)

That sounds like the opposite of what I want to do. I’m happy with the permalink the way it is which matches the page title, what I want to do is make a shorter link. I want the title and the permalink to be the same but the actual link to be different.

The actual link is derived from the permalink so you cant have one without the other etc etc. Not sure why you would want to mess with it in such a way – it will only get more confusing in long run to maintain.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully someone around here has the answer.

Are you saying that you want the link in the Admin –> Manage Pages to be different than your viewable site page & permalink?
