How do I change the title tag to anything I want?

  • I changed the title in “edit page” but the page title tag isn’t changing. How do I change it?

    I want to change it so Google gets my site map right.

    Is there a working plugin or something? Is it normal that we can’t set the title tag? I think it is important to be able to change it to improve SEO and get better results in sitemaps. Almost any html file I make is coming up before any of the WordPress pages on my site…

    No it is not normal for you to not be able to set the title tag. It seems as though whatever theme you’ve decided to use is causing the issue. If you revert to the theme TwentyEleven does the page title update as you would expect?

    I kind of feel silly I was trying to change the title on the top page but that one has to be set in the general settings area. All the other pages are working and changing the way they should ??
