I have a task in front of me: it is necessary to make it possible to collect through a block editor (Gutenberg) content for sections under product categories, under the products themselves and content for additional product tabs.

Problem: I can add an arbitrary text field to the product and category settings, but the basic editor [tinymce] works in it (visual, but not blocky).

In search of a solution, I found such a fragment. Interesting, but not enough. I don’t understand how to use it to add block support to the desired editor.

Thanks for reaching out! Could you elaborate on the target workflow for the customer, please? There may be a plugin (combination, even) already available for covering that functionality; unless you prefer achieving it programmatically. In which case:

I was told how to achieve what I wanted differently: use shortcodes that the Reusable Blocks Extended plugin adds to custom blocks.

In essence, this solves my problem, although it requires keeping fragments, often created for one-time use, in a separate place.

If there is a better solution, I will be glad.

    Howdy @andreslav ??

Glad there’s already a solution suggested; although not perfectly suited to your needs.

An alternative, I understand, is using Advanced Custom Fields.

Furthermore, keep in mind the other resources I shared in my earlier response here.

    I hope that helps!
