Hi, I’m trying to use the plugin and I can’t create a StoryMap. I have made 3 slides with category “tour1” (not sure what this is for). Then I made a StoryMap, but the slides are not available there for choosing, the only thing available to choose in “slides” section of the StoryMap is the StoryMap itself.

I absolutely love your StoryMapsJS and I understand this plugin is kind of new, that’s why I don’t want to and will not write a bad review for this plugin. But could you please explain to me how to use it? I really don’t get it. Also, what are the shortcodes?

Hi alfgogo, thank you for the query.

It is interesting you cannot see any slides in the relationship field. Can you confirm these slides are published? I will need to investigate for you.

The slide category let’s you view the slide category as its own storymap. So you can have a main storymap and a secondary one comprised of slides from the same category.

You may need to enable permalinks and set to postname.

The short code to use looks like this:[storymap id=”first” name=”first-storymap”]

Where ‘first’ should be a unique div id for the storymap and ‘first-storymap’ is the permalink name for your storymap post.

They are published. It’s weird that when selecting the slides inside the Storymap, the Storymap itself appears there to be selected as a slide, but no actual “Storymap Slides”.

Anyways, by category should also work. How do I show Storymaps by category?

    Try the URL:
    https://yourdomain.com/slide-category/<category>/

Where <category> is the friendly URL for your slidecategory

Thank you, any shortcode for it? Also, when I open that it doesn’t work either, I get “Uncaught TypeError: this.options.map_type.split is not a function : storymap-min.js”

Is there anything else I had to do or any settings somewhere I had to setup?

Ok, it just worked. the javascript error was because one of the slides had no image I think.

Interesting, I will also look into this.

I have replicated the issue of storymap slides not appearing in the list – I will fix this. Thanks for bringing to my attention.

You’re welcome, thank you for developing this great plugin. And for your support here.

    Just a couple more things.

    1. Is there a shortcode for category slides?
    2. How can I reorder slides on category slides?

    Plugin Author uiux

    (@uiux)

    1) you can use this shortcode

    [storymap_archive slide_category=”category name”]

Where category name is the URL friendly name for the slide category

    2) No method as yet, iirc it is sorted by post creation date. There is no interface for this yet either. I will need to think about this feature and how to approach it.

Thank you, I’ll wait for the fix then. Nice support ^^

    Hi alfgago,

I have pushed an update for this issue. Thanks again for bringing it to my attention, I am sure this has caused problems for everyone using the free version of Advanced Custom Fields.

I will look into ordering the posts now. If you have any other suggestions / bugs please feel free to tell me.
