  • Do you mean you unchecked the “Allow people to post comments on new articles ” box under Settings > Reading in the WordPress options?

hello Michael yes i did that but never worked, then i later came to find out about a plugin that does that and works.

Another problem am facing on this theme (travel lite) is that I had installed it in a folder in the server but the problem is when i copy the index.php to the root (public.html) the files are all jumbled up the actual layout come totally distorted as is it doesnt come with the layout like that one of the theme.

    How do i fix that?

That’s a sign that your CSS file is no longer linked to your website. Question why are you moving your index.php file?

I have the same problems with the comments,it′s not working
i have tried everything and read a lot about it and installed a plugin too
    nothing

This post is old enough that you should probably start a new thread… but since I was in my email right now here is the answer.

Make sure you have disabled comments as described above AND (this is part that always got me) if you have posts or pages that were created BEFORE you changed that setting you will need to disable comment on the page itself.

Go to posts and select “quick edit” for the post that still has comments showing. in the menu that opens look for a check bock that says “allow Comments” Make sure that box is unchecked. You will need to do this for every post or page that is currently created if you want to disable comments across all posts and pages. I suggest looking at bulk changes if you have a lot.

oh the story here is that i want to ABLE comments
I tried what you said to get the opposite result but still nope..:(
