This is the only plug-in I’ve seen, in my many years of working with WP, that does not provide a Deactivate/Delete menu option.

Other security plug-ins have it, so I consider this a major bug with Shield Security. Does WP even allow that “feature” in it’s plug-in protocols?

The plug-in Security Access Key asks for a Security Access Key. I never saw saw one, or applied for one, when I installed it.

There is a convoluted method for retrieving a “Forgotten Key” but I never had one, so don’t want to get tangled up in that process.

What can I do to delete this plug-in? It seems to hide on the server, so I can’t seem to delete it there.

Please provide a way to delete this thing immediately.

This plugin, like every other plugin, provides a deactivation link. But it’s hidden if you’ve activated the security admin module.

This plugin never creates a security admin key on its own. So someone created it. If you can’t remember your key, or remember creating it, or you never created it yourself, then you’ll need to delete the plugin over FTP (or other file manager).

Delete the folder /wp-content/plugins/wp-simple-firewall/ and you’ll be free of it.

Okay, I got rid of this beast.

It deleted over 1,000 files in hundreds of directories. It was woven into the fabric of the site like a cancer.

I consider it a miracle that deleting all that did not destroy the site.

    Thank you for your help.
