During the last weeks of a soon to be discontinued website, I started getting spam comments even though comments were not enabled on my site. It turned out that the commenters found the img attachment page of a front page image. Not a tech person, I didn’t know these pages existed.

Well that website is gone, but I would like to protect my own personal webite. Can AIOSEO help me?

    Hey @andrew365,

That’s correct, attachment pages are built into WordPress Core, but many people do not know these exist. Under Search Appearance > Image SEO, you can choose to redirect attachment pages to their raw media URL (image URL in this case).

I don’t see “Search Appearance” among my settings. Is this feature part of the pro version? Is there any way I can do this manually?

Search Appearance is one of the main menu pages. You should be able to see it if you’re in the admin menu. Are you using the 4.x version of AIOSEO?

OK,I think I found it. “Redirect attachment pages? No Yes”

I selected Yes. Is that it?

    That should be it.
