    Hello,

Great plugin but how do I display an image only in the pop-up?

I notice that when I insert an image the height of the image is determined by the amount of text in the other column.

I just want the image to display at 100% with no accompanying text.

I also notice you can’t insert images in the text section. When I use the ‘add media’ function it just inserts the alt tag/image link.

    Hope you can help!

    Hey there sodadesign,

    How are you doing today?

I quickly tested this on my sandbox site and I was able to add image to the popup content without any issues. If you place big enough image there so it covers the whole content area it would be displayed in whole popup with addition of some padding which we could remove with some custom CSS.

What’s the outcome when you try to add media to popup content, can you please post screenshot?

    Best regards,
    Bojan

Thanks for the reply Bojan, it’s appreciated!

For some reason even if I insert a large image to fill the whole content area it displays really small with a wide content area for text on the left or right depending on which position I’ve chosen.

The only way I can get the image to display to scale is by inserting lots of lines of <br> in the text field which then increases the size of the image so it seems that the size that the image is dislayed at is dependent on the amount of text in the other column?

I’ve done this and then changed some CSS to get rid of the padding but it’s not ideal as it doesn’t display correctly on mobile devices (it’s ok on tablets however).

Is there a better solution for this?

    Hey again sodadesign,

    Something doesn’t sound right there.

Please try using the large thumbnail or full size image when adding media to popup content and also make sure there are no spaces below the image, please see video https://screencast.com/t/cQteX6fKPZ8.

Plese let me know if this helps ??

    Cheers,
    Bojan

Thanks for the advice Bojan ??

I did try uploading a full size image but it doesn’t display to scale without adding lots of blank text in the text field.

I’ve managed to find away around it but it still doesn’t work properly on a mobile.

Perhaps take a look at the popup on a mobile when you get chance, here’s the URL:

    Hey Sarah,

I’ve checked your site and that definitely doesn’t look right on mobile screens. I can see 2 images with a lot of space below. The space should just be empty rows in the content.

Could you please revert the changes and let me know when you do so we can try to fix this with some custom CSS instead. On smaller resolutions image has maximum height defined so we could override that.

Looking forward for your response ??

    Hi Bojan,

    Happy New year!

Apologies for the delay! I wanted to wait until I was no longer using a promo popup so that I could restore back to the plugins original defaults.

I’ve attempted to replicate your screencast but as you’ll see when I go to insert an image into the visual editor, it doesn’t display. The link is there but when you click the link I get a 404 error.

    Here’s my screencast:
    https://www.mrsbest.co.uk/video/quickcast.mp4

When I insert an image using the ‘PopUp Feature Image’, as you can see it displays but it’s very small.

What I did to get around it, was to insert my image into the PopUp Feature Image and edit the CSS. The result of which you saw originally at the beginning of this thread.

Obviously there appears to be a bug in my version somehow so if you could let me know how to fix that would be great.

ps. I tried deleting the plugin and re-intsalling but the problem still remains.

    Hope you can help!

    Many Thanks,

    Sarah

    Hey again Sarah,

This is just a strip slashes issue with plugin preview option which is a bug in the current version of the plugin. The problem is displayed only when using Preview from admin but the image should be displayed on your site properly.

I already found a solution for this and it will most likely be added in one of the following updates. You can find my solution here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/mailpoet-shortcode?replies=6#post-7587456.

    Hope this helps ??

    Hey there mjung89,

Would you mind opening a new thread as this one is quite old and you seem to have a different issue just so we don’t spam the original thread opener.

    Cheers,
    Bojan
