• Download the zip or tar file and unzip the ‘frontpageexcluded_cats.php’ file into the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.

On the right of the plugin I wish to download, it has in RED “download” I click it and then I am confused with what I am doing next. Can anyone help walk me through what I do so that I can in the future be able to do it myself? I can not find my…..
/wp-content/plugins/ directory. I tried everything to find it myself but no dice. Thanks!!!

Is there anything else besides that?

Plugin directory? Where is my wp-content folder? I have looked everywhere for them…..

Is there anything else besides that?

Can you elaborate on that reply? Im sucking up 80G of bandwidth on “that”, a thank you would be nice.

If you cant find your plugin directory after watching those videos, contact your host.

ummmm…..it was just a follow up question..chill out…Is there anyone else that can help without making me feel like an idiot? Thanks!

making you feel like an idiot? Hows that?

And what prevents you from soliciting the help of your host?

The two videos on THAT site, that I created are fairly straight forward.

    1. you get an ftp client.

    2. you connect to your web space

    3. You look around …

whats IS the problem you seem to be having. Instead of saying “I cant find ..” tell us what you CAN find.

What have you done, in other words?

    ==

and really, you are telling me to chill out??

If anyone needs to do that, it would be.. you, after all, have a topic title named “PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”. The calmness of which, is lost on me. Not to mention your 3 dupe posts.

Wow, you really try to live up to the lady simon cowell thing huh?

Plugin directory? Where is my wp-content folder? Again, I have to remind you of what I need to find. My host is GoDaddy.com This forum is fast to answer questions, not be offended because someone didn’t say thank you even though I did mention “Thanks!!!” in my first question way up top. It seems as though you must have skipped over that since clicking on my name and looking at what else I need help in. The exclamation points were so that someone could see it and react to it fast. It was one of my first forum questions. What have I done? Only sit here for the last 6 hours trying to do it myself, and following everyone else directions. I found everything I needed until I posted this post. Again, you should know that since you went back and looked at what else I am asking for. So please, you chill out…stop trying to “American WordPress” me Simon and let Randy and Paula help me. Your “simon cowell” thing sucks

Anyone else……Do I need Filezilla to do the Plugin? I have Firefox on the bottom of my website and am thinking that I might need that? I guess that could put me on the right path..

    and react to it fast.

Your house was on fire? Or you just think that your inability to get this is more important than someone elses?

    Please don’t reply back.

Guess what, you dont get to tell people what to do around here.

    1. you get an ftp client.

Do I need Filezilla to do the Plugin?

    YES, you do.

Firefox is not an FTP client (please see FTP_Clients). Filezilla is a good/solid FTP client.

Out of curiosity, had you watched those videos that whoo linked?

    those videos..

seriously, handy, between those and the theme ones — 80G of bandwidth. :0 Some hosts are actually telling people to go watch them now.

Handy, yes I did. I will look over them again after I get Filezilla. Thank You for your help.

Paula,(I mean Whoo) your comments and your attempt at wit are sub-par if not worse. I can’t imagine what your like without the stroke of a key. Thank you for your help though. I really wish you had not taken my response back to you out of context after my first post. I will watch your videos in the morning and attempt it again. I am sure they will be helpful once I watch them again. Thanks again!(<—-there is that exclamation point again)

Handy, I followed the video exactly how she did it and it worked (thanks Whoo) I went into my wordpress to see if it worked, it was listed under my plugins, which was great. What I uploaded was a front page category excluder. It was supposed to be posted under my SAVE, PUBLISH Icons on the right hand side and it would give me the option of posting it or excluding from any category. It is not there. What could I have done wrong? Listen Whoo, I know we went back and forth, let’s call it even…..what do you think of this problem though, if you could help out?
    Thanks
