Seems like it should be so simple. I just want to set/change/be able to modify the H1 tags either across all blog posts or for each individual blog post. That means i want to be able to write my own tag content in, not mess with the actual structure of the code. Boss has installed this ‘Yoast’ plugin for search engine optimisation, so i’m happy to use either this or edit files via FTP myself.

Does anyone know if one of the values within this yoast gui represents the H1 tag i’m looking for, or which file/s i need to edit?

I’ve been through the forums here, but one question just appears to lead to another.

    Cheers!

  • You can edit the Yoast plugin directly from within WP Admin.

    Plugins>Editor>Yoast

Or Alter the main .css file from

    Appearance>Editor

    Hope this helps…

I don’t know how to write PHP, I’m afraid. This seems to access a file titled ‘wordpress-seo/wp-seo.php’, but there is no mention therein of any H1 tags. I had hoped it was a value I may have been missing or which could be included via the graphic user interface.

editing a plugin is a bad idea. But it’s not important here, Yoast’s plugin doesn’t add anything to your content. That plugin is used to give search engines info on what your post/page might be about.

With a link to your site, and a description of what you are trying to adjust, we can give more specific help
