How do I enable a new page template

  • Hi everyone!

    I created already a new .php file a new template. I uploaded the new .php through FTP, into the correct theme file. However I do not see the page template in the admin area.

    I already read and tried to follow what is written here: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Pages#Creating_Your_Own_Page_Templates

    but I never get to this step: “On the right menu, select the drop-down menu labeled “Page Template.””

    I even uninstalled the theme, and re installed it.

    Am I missing something?
