How do I enable the editor again?

I inherited a WP site from a client, it has this plugin enabled. In Security > Settings I see that the editor was disabled. I unchecked it and I’m still unable to access the editor. Nor can I upload files via ftp. (Live site not updating with changes.) Any advice?
