    default widget has started popping up on my website on the sidebar
    how do i get rid of it?

    showing a sidebar on a page seems to be default for the theme;
    and unless you add any widgets to the corresponding widget area under ‘dashboard – appearance – widgets’, the shown text seems to be what the theme outputs.

    are you trying to get a page without any right sidebar?

    has started popping up

    was that different before? what have you changed lately in your site?
