With any CMS, especially one as full-featured as WordPress, there’s going to be a learning curve involved, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes easy to set up a site. So the first thing you should learn is that each theme from the WordPress theme repository has its own support page. That makes it easier for the theme developer to see your question if you have a theme-related problem. The support page for SKT Full Width is here.
Also, when you post a question, it is helpful to include a link to a page that you’re having problems with and state explicitly what elements you want to hide. That is, when you say you want to get rid of “all that blog stuff,” what exactly are you referring to, the widget(s) on the sidebar? The Comments section? You can hide the comments section by going to Settings → Discussion. You can use some Custom CSS to get rid of the sidebar altogether, or you can replace any sidebar widget with one that is pertinent to what you need.
You’ll also find that some themes are a bit easier to customize than others, or have a layout that is more suitable to what you need. You can switch from theme to theme without losing any content, so don’t be afraid to try out different themes.
