How do I get rid of the default extra stuff on the left of my new WP webpage?

  • I just got my WordPress webpage up and running on my GoDaddy site. I’ll be using it mostly for selling items I build. I’ve installed and activated the WP-Easycart plugin and have put a number of items for sale, into place. Seems to be working pretty well.

    The default WordPress page seems to be oriented around blogging, though. The left side of the page contains “comments”, “posts”, etc. I’d rather get rid of those things, and have the Display of the sale items be pretty much all of the page.

    How do I get rid of the “comments”, “posts” etc. on the left side of the page?

    In general, is there a guide somewhere, that tells how to modify and customize that opening WordPress website page?
