• I just installed WP and this is my first experience with it. I am trying to set up the layout, and am having trouble with arranging stuff on the right side. I would like to have just pages, archives and meta showing, but can’t figure out how to get categories and other stuff to not show….

  • Try adding some widgets to your sidebar in Appearance/Widgets.

I did this, I have Archives, Meta, Calendar, and search listed under sidebar1, but when I view page nothing has changed

Remember to press CTRL and F5 simultaneously when viewing an updated page/site. Or try emptying your browser cache. This should ensure that your web browser fetches a fresh copy of the page rather than serving up an out-dated copy from your own cache.

    Also disable/deactivate any caching plugin(s).

I tried the CTRL/F% method of refreshing, and still shows an unchanged page, I also tried viewing in IE (I use firefox normally) and still the page is unchanged.

Don;t think I have any caching plugins..

    Site url?

which theme you are using? and what’s your site url?
