how do I get to archives?

    I have used some of the code from Perishable Press to only display certain categories on the main page, works great, however… Is there any way to use the_excerpt and have the ellipsis be a link to the full article? Also, how can I put a link to the full archive for those categories? For instance, if I am showing the excerpt for category 4, how do I create a link to the archive for category 4?
