How do I handle long posts?

I’ve just installed WordPress and I want to write a review of several items but I’m unsure on the best way to do this.

I tried splitting the review of these 10 objects into 10 posts. But WP places the most recent at the top of the category I placed them in.
I’d prefer the reader to read item #1 first. Not in reverse order.

I tried making the review of these into one long post and tried using the ‘more‘ tag but oddly (it seems to me) it only seems to apply to the first use of it and using more that one ‘more‘ tag in a post doesn’t further split the post into small manageable chunks.

So I guess I’d like in a category called review to have a list of short teasers of different reviews as in the future I hope to have many different reviews of items. But I don’t really want to have this leading to one huge and lengthy post.

So can some one recommend how is the best way for me to do this?
