How do I hide one category from Recent Posts widget?

    I need to hide one category from the Recent Posts widget. Currently the widget shows all posts, including those that have no point, such as feature blurb or event posts.

    How do I hide one category’s posts from being listed?

    I’ve searched all the widgets I can find with no luck.
