How do i hide tags and turn off comments on a particular post

Unchecking “Allow people to post comments on new articles” at Settings -> Discussion only sets the default for future posts/pages.

To remove comments on an existing post/page, like the only used for your home page, edit that post/page and scroll down to the Discussion box below the editor. There, uncheck “Comments” to disable comments on the post/page.

If you don’t see a Discussion box below the editor, hit the Site Options tab near the top-right and check “Discussion” to enable the Discussion box below the editor.

Thanks, but i want comments sometimes, i just dont ever want the tags to show up. Is there a way to do that.

Ah, I don’t really know of a way to selectively hide tags on specific posts besides just not adding tags to the specific post you don’t want them to appear on, which is why I just answered the Comments part of your question.

These are open forums though, I’m sure if someone else has an answer for that, they’ll reply. ??

Thanks James, yeah i could remove the tags but then that hurts my tag taffic. I just dont want them to show because it looks gaudy..

I wouldn’t recommend keeping them and hiding them visibly, the major search engines actually penalize the entire site for that.

ok thanks i did not realize that, maybe i might just do a css change and make them really tiny then lol..
